Our Rhino population is finally seeing the light of day
Due to the ongoing support received from the public, we are extremely glad to inform you that the Rhino population has increased by 6% since 2012 (This is the first increase for the past 15 years). Poaching has also decreased by 11% during this period.
Dehorning the Rhino seems to be part of the solution in protecting and increasing their numbers.
Our main concern is that poachers have now turned their attention to smaller game farms or privately owned farms. Laying snares has become one of the go to methods for poachers on larger game farms or reserves as, with this method, they are able to also poach other animals ie. Rhinos, Elephants, Buffalos, Impala, etc.
Protecting our wildlife is of utmost importance therefore, we are requesting the public and businesses to assist in saving our existing wildlife.
Your continued support in us upgrading security and the removal of snares is urgently required.
In 2022, 448 rhinos were poached in South Africa alone.
The illegal trade in rhino horn is estimated to be worth around $100 million per year.
According to the World Wildlife Fund, one rhino is killed for it's horn every 12 hours on average.
We aim to create an environment that is safe for rhinos.

PEAK POACHING PERIOD
Poachers generally mix with tourists during the festive period and therefore are able to locate the position of our wildlife which makes poaching a lot easier for themselves.
We would like to emphasize the importance of this project and hope that you have been touched by our plight. We implore you as an individual or business to find it in your heart to assist us with this endeavour to save this species from possible extinction.
What We Do
Anti-Poaching
Through the Rhino Salvation we assist rangers and wildlife game farms by installing electric fences and night vision cameras. We empower them with additional drones and tracker dogs.
Education
Empowering the youth by educating them about the importance of protecting our wild life.
Supplies
The Rhino Orphanage provide animal feed, veterinary services, pesticides, subsidies for game rangers and much more!
Community involvment
We promote, cultivate and maintain programs specifically aimed at gearing communities to preserve rhinos
